Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - An empty exercise in visual effects wizardry. Nothing but a hollow shell (ha ha) of a movie.
Into the Storm - An empty exercise in visual effects wizardry. It blows (ha ha).
Guardians of the Galaxy - A fountain of joy. Easily the most fun I've had in a movie theater all year.
Boyhood - Not just a movie with a gimmick, but one of the best movies of the year.
Lucy - If you can stand the heaps of dopiness, it's a pretty fun movie.
Hercules - Not bad. Okay. Decent. See it if you've got nothing better to do.
The Purge: Anarchy - A surprisingly entertaining dark B-movie action thriller. Much better than the first Purge.
Planes: Fire & Rescue - Slightly better than the original movie, but still generic animated fare.
Sex Tape - A sex comedy that is barely sexy or funny. Disappointing.
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes - Nearly as good as the last movie, still great. One of the best summer movies so far.
